 FROM CHAMPIONSHIP GLORY TO LIFE BEYOND THE GAME

Tony Hills’ football journey began at the prestigious University of Texas, where he earned All-Big 12 honors and played a pivotal role in securing a National Championship for the Longhorns. His standout performance as an offensive lineman earned him a spot on the Walter Camp All-American Team and placed him on the Outland Trophy watch list. Over his four years with Texas, Tony helped lead the Longhorns to four consecutive bowl victories, including the 2004 and 2005 Rose Bowls, the 2006 Alamo Bowl, and the 2007 Holiday Bowl. 

Tony’s collegiate success propelled him into a 10-year professional football career in the NFL, where he played for several teams, including the Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Steelers. With the Steelers, Tony became a Super Bowl XLIII champion. Known for his versatility, leadership, and discipline, Tony made multiple playoff appearances throughout his career.

His journey in football, marked by resilience and dedication, also earned him the D. Harold Byrd Leadership Award at the University of Texas, underscoring his influence both on and off the field. Today, Tony draws on these experiences to help others achieve success beyond the game, empowering athletes and professionals alike to excel in life’s next chapter. 

 

A NEW CHAPTER OF LEADERSHIP

 

After retiring from professional football in 2017, Tony Hills embarked on a new journey—one that would allow him to leverage his experiences on the field and his passion for financial literacy. His interest in finance began with a focus on credit, but he soon found his calling in Life Insurance and Annuities. Driven by the alarming statistic that 78% of athletes face financial hardship within 2-12 years after leaving their sport, Tony founded STATT Financial Services. The goal: to provide athletes with essential tools and strategies to maintain and grow their wealth, ensuring long-term financial security beyond their playing careers.

After relocating from Houston to Dallas, Tony recognized a gap in the networking space—a lack of a program that centered on servant leadership. This realization led to the founding of The OriGEN Network, a platform designed to bring together athletes and business leaders, encouraging collaboration not only for personal gain but to uplift and serve others. The network has become a thriving community where shared values and opportunities meet.

Tony's journey also expanded into public speaking, where he shares his powerful message of perseverance, drawing from both his successes and challenges in football and entrepreneurship. His story of resilience and dedication inspires others to push through adversity and seize new opportunities. 

In addition, Tony launched the Tycoon Talks Podcast with TonytheTycoon, a space for athletes to speak candidly and without judgment about their experiences during and after their careers. The podcast has grown into a platform where stories of life on and off the field are shared, highlighting the unique journeys athletes undergo as they transition into the next phases of their lives.
